Knee Microfracture

Injury to the knee can result in a localised full thickness loss of the cartilage covering of the bone (articular cartilage).

Microfracture is one method of surgically encouraging new cartilage to grow and fill the defect.

Mr Ashworth has been performing this surgery for over 20 years and has always followed the Steadman protocol.

Dr Steadman was the originator of the microfracture technique. Click here for a link to his web site.

It is important you understand the recovery advice for this operation.
